Privacy Policy

01Who this applies to

This policy applies to kevindownswell.com (the “site”) and to the personal data handled through it by Kevin Downswell Ministries (“Kevin Downswell Ministries”, “we”, “us”, “our”). Kevin Downswell Ministries is based in Jamaica. This policy does not apply to any third-party website or service you reach through a link from this site, each of which has its own privacy policy.

02Information you provide

You can use most of the site without giving any personal information. You choose to provide information in the following places:

Kevin’s Inner Circle email sign-up

If you join the Inner Circle, you submit your email address. The sign-up is handled by Kit (formerly ConvertKit) and uses double opt-in: after you submit the form, Kit sends a confirmation email, and you are only added to the list once you click the link in that email. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email you receive.

Booking request form

If you submit a booking request through the Book Kevin page, you provide the details you enter in that form. Those fields are: event name, event type, venue name, venue address, city and country, expected attendance, event date, performance time, contact name, organisation, phone number, email address, budget, number of days required, and any message you add. The form also includes a hidden field used only to detect automated spam. Submissions are delivered to us by Formspree.

Messages you send

If you email the booking address or otherwise contact us directly, we receive the content of your message and your email address, and any information you choose to include.

03Information collected automatically

The site is built as static pages. It does not run advertising trackers or web analytics, and it does not set its own cookies.

• Server logs. Like most websites, the service that hosts the site may automatically record standard technical information when a page is requested — for example your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, and the date and time. This is used to deliver the site and to keep it secure and available.
• Web fonts. The site loads the Archivo typeface from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests the font files from Google’s servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request. Google’s handling of that data is governed by Google’s own privacy policy.
• Inner Circle form. When the Inner Circle form is used, Kit’s standard handling stores a random identifier in your browser’s local storage and sends a page-visit signal to Kit. This is used by Kit to attribute and de-duplicate form submissions. No advertising or cross-site profiling is performed by this site.

04How information is used

We use the information described above only to:

• send Inner Circle emails you have asked to receive, and manage that list;
• receive, review and respond to booking requests and other messages;
• operate, maintain and secure the site;
• keep reasonable records of enquiries and correspondence;
• comply with legal obligations that apply to us.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

05Third-party services

We rely on a small number of established service providers to run parts of the site. Each processes data on its own systems and under its own privacy policy:

• Kit (ConvertKit) — email sign-up and delivery for the Inner Circle. Receives the email address you submit and manages the subscription and mailings.
• Formspree — delivery of booking request submissions. Receives the contents of the booking form and forwards them to us.
• Google Fonts — serving the site’s typeface, as described in section 3.

We share information with these providers only to the extent needed for them to perform the function described. We do not otherwise disclose your personal information, except where we are required to do so by law, or where necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property.

06Email communication

If you join the Inner Circle, you will receive emails sent through Kit on Kevin’s behalf — for example music, devotionals, early releases and encouragement. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect for future mailings.

If you contact us about a booking or another matter, we will use your email address to reply and to continue that conversation.

07Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required to meet legal, accounting or reporting obligations:

• Inner Circle: your email address is kept for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, it is removed from the active list, subject to any minimal records Kit retains to honour your unsubscribe request.
• Booking requests and messages: kept for as long as is reasonably necessary to deal with the enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted or archived.

When personal information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

08Your rights and choices

You can:

• Unsubscribe from Inner Circle emails at any time using the link in any email.
• Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date.
• Ask us to delete your information, where we are not required to keep it.
• Withdraw consent you have given, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection law, and we will honour any rights that apply to you. To make a request, contact us using the details in section 14. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

09Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and the sign-up and booking submissions are transmitted to Kit and Formspree over encrypted connections. Those providers apply their own security measures to the data they hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect the limited information involved.

The site links to third-party services including streaming platforms, social media, online booksellers, and a separate giving page. Those sites are outside our control. When you follow a link, the destination site’s own privacy policy and terms apply, and this policy no longer governs how your information is handled.

11Children’s privacy

The website is not directed to children. Kevin Downswell Ministries does not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent, where such consent is required by law. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12International users

The site can be accessed from around the world. The service providers we use (Kit, Formspree, Google Fonts) may process and store data on servers located in other countries, including the United States. By using the site or submitting information through it, you understand that your information may be processed in a country other than the one you live in, under that country’s laws.

13Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be made clear on this page. Please check back periodically.
